Location: Hamburg (Factory)
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive
Equity: Benchmarked
Role Overview:
Own dimensional inspection at Isembard Germany - from CMM programming and first article inspection to non-conformance root cause and audit readiness.
You will build the metrology function rather than inherit one. That means writing the inspection programmes, defining probing and datum strategy, setting up gauge calibration, and deciding how quality data flows back into machining and into MasonOS.
This is a hands-on, high-ownership role in a founding team of a few people. There are no departments and no handovers. You programme it, you measure it, you sign it off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, programme and optimise CMM inspection routines (PC-DMIS, Zeiss Calypso or equivalent) for complex geometries and tight-tolerance features
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and ISO GPS call-outs, and customer-specific inspection and documentation requirements
- Run First Article Inspections (FAI / EN 9102), in-process inspection and final part sign-off for aerospace, defence, energy and medical work
- Select probing strategy, fixturing and datum schemes; build inspection fixtures where needed
- Analyse inspection data to find trends, root causes of non-conformances and process capability issues, and drive the corrective action back to the machine
- Own calibration and monitoring of all measurement equipment (CMM, gauges, micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
- Maintain CMM programmes, inspection records and quality documentation to EN 9100 / ISO 9001 standard
- Work directly with our machinists and CAM programmers to resolve fit, form and function issues before and during production
- Support customer and certification audits, and help take the factory through EN 9100
- Work with the MasonOS software team to get inspection data captured and used, not filed
Required Skills:
- Several years of hands-on CMM programming in precision manufacturing, aerospace or a machine shop environment
